Warehouse Manager

A. Job Purpose: Supervise the receipt, dispatching and storage of merchandise in our warehouse. The warehouse manager will oversee picking, storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, and administrative functions. Oversee, train, evaluate and reward staff. You will ensure the maintenance of company assets including Motor vehicle and machinery

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the Chief Accountant & Chief Financial Officer in the achievement of the company’s goals and the maintenance of adequate internal controls over all areas of operations.
• Ensure timely completion of all reports including stock count, inventory management and yearly warehouse audit.
• Enforce the maintenance of JDC policies and procedures as they apply to the operation.

B. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP – Reporting to Chief Accountant

C. FUNCTIONS

a) Be responsible and by extension be held accountable for the effective and efficient operations of the Company’s procurement items;
b) Report on a bi-weekly basis to the Company’s Chief Accountant and Senior Project Manager.
c) Be responsible for the coordination of material management activities: this includes the receiving and issuing of the Company’s procurement items;
d) To maintain a keen eye for detail and safety through the implementation of a safety plan for the warehouse;
e) To maintain an accurate record of the items received in the warehouse and that are delivered to contractors by using a computerised inventory system;
f) To demonstrate comprehensive written, verbal and communication skills;
g) To ensure that all the goods that are received are in good condition;
h) To assist in the procurement process.

D. GENERAL

  1. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, & printers.
  2. Forklift Licence or Operators Licence + D Class Licence would be an asset

E. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE
a) Minimum of five years of experience in similar role and experience supervising staff in all disciplines of warehousing required.
b) Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
c) Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
d) Valid drivers’ license.
e) Ability to operate forklift effectively.
f) Proficient computer skills.
g) Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
h) Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills.
i) Strong people skills.
j) Available to work extended hours.
