Introducing The Paperclip Files

For years, I have been fascinated by organisations.

Not just the structures that appear on organisational charts or the policies that sit in employee handbooks, but the realities that shape how organisations actually function.

The conversations that happen behind closed doors.

The decisions leaders wrestle with.

The systems that support performance—or quietly undermine it.

The challenges that emerge as organisations grow, change, and adapt to new realities.

Through my work across the Caribbean, I have had the opportunity to work with leaders navigating many of these questions. Some are trying to strengthen governance. Others are building workforce capability, managing growth, improving organisational effectiveness, or responding to changes in the labour market.

What often strikes me is that organisations rarely struggle because of a single issue.

A staffing challenge may actually be a leadership challenge.

A performance issue may be rooted in unclear expectations.

A communication problem may be a symptom of deeper organisational misalignment.

The most interesting questions are often found beneath the surface.

That is the thinking behind The Paperclip Files.

Beginning in July 2026, The Paperclip Files will become a regular podcast exploring organisations, leadership, workforce strategy, governance, and the realities of building stronger systems in the Caribbean.

The conversations will draw on observations from practice, emerging workplace trends, organisational challenges, labour market developments, and the experiences of leaders working to strengthen their organisations.

Some episodes will focus on specific issues facing employers and organisations.

Others will explore broader questions about leadership, organisational effectiveness, workforce dynamics, and the future of work in the Caribbean.

The goal is not to provide simple answers.

The goal is to create thoughtful conversations about the realities organisations face and the decisions leaders must make every day.

If you have followed our articles, commentary, and organisational insights over the years, this will feel familiar.

The format may be changing, but the focus remains the same:

Understanding how organisations work.

Exploring why they sometimes struggle.

And sharing practical insights that help leaders build stronger organisations.

We look forward to bringing The Paperclip Files to life in July 2026.

The conversation is just getting started.
